Senior Staff Has Been Appointed
Williamsburg, VA: Berkeley Oaks memory care community in Williamsburg is set to open in early April. Managed by Solvere Living, the new, state-of-the-art community will offer 48 memory care apartments, featuring three home-like, separate detached cottages to provide an intimate family environment.
The public is invited to open houses from 1 -3 p.m. or 5 -7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22nd at Berkeley Oaks, 1807 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA; 23185. Two recently appointed senior staff bring years of experience to Berkeley Oaks. Ashley F. Jones is the general manager of the community and will be responsible for overall leadership and daily operations. She has more than eight years’ experience in senior living in a variety of settings, including long-term care, assisted and independent living. Jones is a licensed nursing home administrator and holds a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Sociology from Mary Baldwin University. Prior to her appointment at Berkeley Oaks, she was resident relations director for Kisco Senior Living’s First Colonial Inn in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is a resident of Hampton, Virginia.
Fred Kricher is director of community relations and brings eight years of experience in memory care. Prior to his position with Berkeley Oaks, he was marketing manager for Riverside Health Systems’ Patriots Colony in Williamsburg, Virginia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a Business Minor from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and lives in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Each of Berkeley Oaks’ one-story cottages will have 16 private studio residences with private bath and shower, and shared living spaces, including family-style dining and an adjacent living room with fireplace. The community will feature Solvere’s proprietary memory care program, Valeo, Latin for “to thrive,” which focuses specifically on wellness initiatives for those with memory impairments. Valeo incorporates components that examine residents’ social, intellectual, vocational, spiritual, physical and emotional well-being and supports residents and families in achieving successful aging goals. Wellness staff will be onsite 24 hours. Berkeley Oaks’ amenities include a secure courtyard; beauty and barber salon; library and activity room, along with entertainment and social and spiritual programs. A concierge, housekeeping, 24-hour security; transportation, housekeeping, and interior and exterior maintenance are among the many services.

Mr. Daugherty has 35 years investment and operating experience in real estate related activities.
