“Construction is underway on a new $31.6 million residential community for adults 55 and older in Henrico County.
Aspire at Carriage Hill, at 5020 Sulky Drive, is adjacent to the existing Carriage Hill apartment complex off Glenside Drive, also a 55-and-older independent living community.
The new four-story, 177,000-square-foot Aspire building will feature 148 one- and two-bedroom apartments and is slated to open in May.
“This is independent living,” said Mike Brindley, a vice president at Princeton, N.J.-based Solvere Living, Aspire’s management company. “This is about people having the lifestyle they want without having some of the maintenance they’re doing at their own home.”
The leasing office for the future Aspire apartments is now open, with units priced starting around $2,500 per month, which includes cable and utilities except for telephone; concierge and security services; and weekly housekeeping.
The owner and developer for Aspire is Arlington-based Bonaventure Realty Group, the property management firm that owns and manages the existing Carriage Hill apartment community.
Brindley said he hopes the apartments will attract younger 55-and-older adults who are active in the community and will take advantage of the building’s offerings. On-site amenities include an indoor pool, a salon and spa, a fitness center and an outdoor dining area.
“It’s all going to be conducive to keeping [residents on-site], but really we want to promote getting out … and doing what they always do and having purpose,” Brindley said.
Residents also will have access to existing Carriage Hill apartment amenities, including an outdoor pool and a full service bar and dining room. The existing Carriage Hill complex has 664 apartment units, with one-, two- or three-bedroom floor plans.
“We are providing residents with an environment of engaging programs and events, along with the best in quality of life and services,” Kristin Kutac Ward, president and CEO of Solvere, said in a statement. “The location also provides easy access to Richmond’s plethora of historical, cultural and entertainment attractions, as well as its shopping venues and colorful riverfront scene.”
Solvere is part of a senior living management and marketing company Solutions Advisors Group. Solvere manages 14 communities in eight states, including Verena at the Reserve and Verena at the Glen, in Henrico, with others under development.”
