Solvere Living residents (assisted living and memory care communities) will be the first group of individuals eligible to receive the vaccine, as well as Solvere team members who support and provide care to these residents every day. This year has had many twists and turns. We are incredibly grateful to our team members, residents and families who have supported and persevered along-side us. We can’t thank you enough. And, if you’ve been considering a Solvere community, now is the time to consider moving with vaccination efforts underway.
With the advisement of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other health experts, The Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices (ACIP) has approved that residents living in long-term care facilities have been placed into Phase 1A to receive the vaccine. Also, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) is expected to approve emergency authorization of the administration of the vaccine in the next several days. (Long-term care facilities include assisted living communities and memory care communities and neighborhoods.)
Each Solvere community – assisted living and memory care – has taken the necessary steps to ensure they have partnered with CVS/Omnicare Pharmacy, which is one of two pharmacies the federal government has partnered with to administer the vaccine. We are working closely with Omnicare and the vaccination will take place through the CVS/Omnicare clinics we will have at each community.
As recently as last week, the CDC also offered new guidance regarding quarantining and isolation practices due to COVID exposure or being positive. We are updating practices in each community to reflect these changes and will continue to inform you as additional changes occur.
