The Solvere Living communities made it a December to remember and competed for the best Holiday Refreshment Cart. The carts had snowflakes, tinsel, delectable desserts, reindeer, and trains. These beautifully decorated refreshment carts serve several purposes. They are an opportunity for dining services team members to show their creativity, visit residents and surprise them at their apartments, and make daily rounds with food, beverages, and conversation.
“We want to thank all team members for the tremendous effort they put into this contest,” said Joe Geiser, vice president, Solvere Living Dining Services. “The judging was difficult, there could have easily been other winners.”
The criteria were based on types of holiday food and beverages, creativity, play on themes, presentation and resident interaction.
First Place – The Sterling Aventura, Fla., was an elegant, snowflake white cart filled with fancy cupcakes, pastries and desserts.
Second Place – The Monarch at Richardson, Texas was a rich red cart with wreaths, ornaments and funny elves with desserts.
Third Place – Presidential Place, Hollywood, Fla., a Polar Express themed cart with a pick a prize holiday tree with stuffed animal prizes.
Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to all the Solvere Living communities. We made this a wonderful way to end the year.
