AJ has been in the senior health industry for over 19 years. She graduated from Auburn University with a Master’s in Education and Health Promotion. Before moving to Florida, AJ worked as an Activity Director in an assisted living community in Auburn, Alabama. She later served as a licensed Assisted Living Administrator for the state of Alabama and helped develop the East Alabama Medical Center Senior Living Education Department, providing training and education for 5 senior living communities, including a skilled nursing facility.
AJ is not only a Florida CORE trained and licensed Assisted Living Administrator, but also holds multiple training certificates for conducting caregiver facilitator support; one being from Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care. She raises knowledge, awareness, and how to initiate strategies and techniques to Dementia as a certified dementia care trainer for the State of Florida. AJ has presented educational sessions for both local and national professional associations as a keynote speaker for family and professional caregiver conferences. In her role as Managing Director of Valeo, she oversees all aspects of the company’s memory care programs and initiatives, ensuring quality, developing programming and providing training to team members.

When not working, AJ enjoys spending time with her husband of 16 years, trying new restaurants and traveling together. Having completed a marathon and several other races, AJ loves to run. She has two adult stepchildren as well as 8 nieces and nephews who call her “Aunt Jill.” A relaxing day may often include a good book, baking cookies or a dessert or going to the beach.
